Post merge, priority fee goes to coinbase
set when the execution client (ne “eth1”) starts. This creates some challenges for aaS providers like Infura, where the execution client or a consensus client (ne “beacon”)/execution client node is for rent.
There’s a proposal for 0x2 credentials that would have the validator client send an address over, to be used as a destination for priority fees, and that to be enforced by the chain.
